Compare Our Leathers & Construction

The hide and the way we build a product both matter. “Double-layer” means two leather layers. “Lined” means an outer leather paired with a different inner leather. A single-layer piece uses one main layer of leather.

Choose a belt build

Belt Leather and build Total weight
Heritage Single-layer Wickett & Craig English bridle cowhide 10–12 oz
Sierra Shrunken American bison with Horween Chromexcel lining 10–12 oz
Ridge Double-layer American bison 11–13 oz
Frontier Double-layer shrunken American bison 14–15 oz

Leather ounces describe thickness by weight, not the weight of the whole belt. Natural hides vary. All four belts are 1.5 inches wide and use Chicago screws so the buckle can be changed.

American bison

Bison leather has bold, uneven grain. Shrunken bison has a more pronounced texture. It is used in our belts, selected collars, and desk and carry goods. The build differs by product: a coaster is one layer, while a belt can have two layers or a lining.

Italian leather

Our Italian leather collars use single-layer vegetable-tanned leather without stitching. The smooth look makes the color and edges stand out. The leather is Italian; we make the collar in New Jersey.

Wickett & Craig

Wickett & Craig leather is vegetable-tanned in Pennsylvania. Our Heritage belt and Wickett & Craig collars use single-layer leather. These products have a clean, firm feel and develop character with wear.

Choose the piece, then check its details

The tray has an added center panel, not two full layers across the whole body. The glasses case is cut from one piece and folded. Read each product’s details for its exact layers, dimensions and hardware.
