- Custom lengths available on request.
The leather
- Tanned in small batches at Wickett & Craig’s historic Pennsylvania tannery, our leather begins as full-grain U.S. steer hide and is slowly vegetable-tanned with tree-bark extracts instead of harsh chemicals.
- The 10–12 oz bridle stock is hot-stuffed with natural oils and waxes, giving each strap a rich pull-up and a subtle, satin glow.
- From the first buckle-up it feels firm and supportive; with wear it warms, softens, and develops a deep patina that’s unique to you. Heritage quality, earth-minded tanning, and everyday luxury—right on your waist.
How it is made
- We start with a single side of Wickett & Craig bridle leather, hand-picked for clean grain and even 10–12 oz temper.
- A strap cutter slices a continuous 1.5″ strip from the hide’s backbone—the strongest portion.
- Edges are beveled, then burnished .
- Five holes are hand-punched; the center hole is measured precisely to your ordered size.
- Solid-brass or nickel buckle secured with Chicago screws, allowing quick hardware swaps or nameplate additions.
- Every belt is inspected for cut accuracy, edge finish, and hardware security before leaving our New Jersey workshop.
